Ingredients
- PAM® Original nonstick cooking spray
- 8 wooden sticks
- 8 medium Granny Smith apples, stems removed (8 apples = about 3 lbs)
- 2 cups (256 g) Glutino® Pretzel Twists, crushed to pieces
- 35 caramels, unpackaged
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) water
- 2 tbsp (30 g) creamy peanut butter
Directions
-
Step one
Spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking plaster; reserve. Insert a craft stick into the end of the stem of each apple. Place the pretzel crumbs in a shallow dish.
-
Step two
Mix the caramels and water in a small microwaveable bowl. Microwave at HIGH power for 2 minutes or until the caramels melt and the mixture mixes when stirred, stirring after every minute. Add the peanut butter.
-
Step three
Dip each apple, 3/4, in the hot caramel mixture. Rotate the apple to let the excess caramel drain. Stir in crushed pretzels. Place on a baking sheet and refrigerate until served.
Tips
For best results, make sure the apples are dry before soaking them in the caramel mixture.
