Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon
- 18 peeled deveined large shrimp (16-20 count)
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup (175 mL) VH® Plum Dipping Sauce
- Toothpicks
Directions
-
Step one
Cut each slice of bacon into 3 pieces. Wrap each shrimp with 1 piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
-
Step two
Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet set over medium heat; cook shrimp, in 2 batches, for 3 to 5 minutes per side or until bacon is crispy and shrimp are pink and cooked through.
-
Step three
Transfer to paper towel–lined plate. Arrange on serving platter with VH® Plum Dipping Sauce.
Tips
Alternatively, you can grill the bacon-wrapped shrimp. First, par-cook the bacon for a few minutes so that some of the fat has rendered but the bacon is still pliable enough to wrap around the shrimp (this helps to prevent flare-ups on the barbecue). Preheat the grill to medium heat before cooking the bacon-wrapped shrimp.
