1 bag (99 g each) Orville Redenbacher® Gourmet Buttery Flavour Microwave Popcorn
1/2 cup (64 g) Earth Balance® butter
1 cup (128 g) granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon (2.84 g) baking soda
1/2 teaspoon (2.84 g) salt
1/4 cup (32 g) light corn syrup
1 container (454 g) Duncan Hines® Creamy Vanilla Frosting
Birthday candles, optional
1/2 cup (64 g) candy sprinkle (optional)

Step one

Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Step two

Spray 13x9-inch (3x23-cm) baking pan and twelve 2-1/2-inch (6-cm) muffin cups with cooking spray.
Step three

Prepare popcorn according to package directions.
Step four

Remove any unpopped kernels.
Step five

Spread popped corn evenly in baking pan.
Step six

Melt margarine in medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
Step seven

Add sugar, corn syrup and salt; bring to a boil.
Step eight

Boil 2 minutes stirring constantly; remove from heat.
Step nine

Stir in baking soda; mix well.
Step ten

Pour over popcorn and toss gently to coat evenly.
Step eleven

Bake 5 minutes, stirring once halfway through baking.
Step twelve

Remove from oven; stir well.
Step thirteen

Cool 5 minutes.
Step fourteen

Spray hands with cooking spray.
Step fifteen

Divide popcorn mixture into 12 portions; shape each portion in each muffin cup to resemble a cupcake.
Step sixteen

Spread frosting on the top mounded part of each popcorn cupcake.
Step seventeen

Add sprinkles and candle, if desired. Store in tightly sealed container.
