- 1 box (432 g) Duncan Hines® Golden Yellow Cake Mix
- 1/3 cup (75 mL) vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp (10 mL) ground cinnamon, divided
- 2 apples, peeled and diced (about 1 1/2 cups)
- 3/4 cup (175 mL) granola
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) packed brown sugar
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter, melted
- 1 cup (250 mL) 35% whipping cream, whipped (optional)

Step one
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour 13- x 9-inch (3 L) baking pan. Using electric mixer at medium speed, beat Duncan Hines® Golden Yellow Cake Mix, 1 cup (250 mL) water, oil, eggs and half of the cinnamon for 2 minutes. Stir in apples.

Step two
Pour batter into prepared pan. In small bowl, combine granola, brown sugar, butter and remaining cinnamon; sprinkle evenly over batter.

Bake for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Transfer to rack; let cool for 20 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature, with dollop of whipped cream (if desired).
Tips
Honeycrisp, Cortland or Granny Smith apples work well in this recipe.
