Asian Chicken Burgers with Pineapple Mayonnaise

Ingredients
- 2 lb (1 kg) ground chicken
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) VH® Teriyaki Cooking Sauce, divided
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) finely chopped green onions
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) VH® Soya Sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp (5 mL) minced garlic
- 1 tsp (5 mL) grated fresh ginger
- 2/3 cup (150 mL) mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) VH® Pineapple Marinade
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) finely chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) pepper
- PAM® Original Cooking Spray
- 6 burger buns, split
- 6 iceberg lettuce leaves
Directions

Step one
In large bowl, stir together ground chicken, bread crumbs, teriyaki cooking sauce, green onions, soya sauce, egg, garlic and ginger. Using wet hands, form mixture into six patties; refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, in small bowl, stir together mayonnaise, pineapple marinade, cilantro and pepper; set aside.

Heat grill to medium-high; coat grates with cooking spray.

Step four
Grill burgers for 6 to 7 minutes per side or until instant-read thermometer reaches 165°F (74°F) when inserted in centre of burger. Brush remaining teriyaki sauce over burgers.

Step five
Assemble burgers in buns with lettuce and pineapple mayonnaise.
Tips
For a bacon cheeseburger, add Monterey Jack cheese and crispy bacon strips to burger.
